The Little Women actress has had a long association with designers at the Italian fashion house, and on Wednesday, she unveiled her first-ever photoshoot for the label.
The 27-year-old actress, Florence Pugh, who is worldwide known for her roles in films Midsommar, Little Women and most recently A Good Person, is Valentino’s latest global ambassador. On Wednesday, she unveiled her first-ever photoshoot for the Italian fashion house: Rockstud campaign (DI.VA). In the images, she showcases the label’s iconic bags and pumps.
“An Encyclopedia of Feelings: the study of emotionality with Florence Pugh for the Maison’s newly revealed campaign, the Valentino Divas takes us on a tour of humanity’s wide range of emotions.” – the label shared on their official Instagram account.
The stunning images, masterfully captured in front of a stark-white background by fashion photographer, Steven Meisel, give us new-fresh vibes while transporting us to a world where beauty, fashion, and creativity combine. Highlighting the Valentino Garavani Rockstud range, Meisel captured a hyper-expressive Pugh showing off her excitement for the Rockstud23 bag.
Recently, Florence Pugh has joined Zendaya and Lewis Hamilton, who have been chosen by creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli to embody the house’s codes and values in Valentino’s A/W 23 campaign. Pugh is definitely the muse for Valentino, as she has already donned Valentino on numerous red carpets, including last year’s Fashion Awards. She took to Instagram to announce her new status as a DiVa along with her first campaign. ‘Working with talented people is one thing, but to work with talented people who are great friends feeds the soul!’, states Pugh on Instagram.
On choosing her to become the brand’s newest Di.Va, Piccioli took to Instagram to explain, ‘It’s not just a face, it’s a real partnership based on trust and respect’.
Florence Pugh said in an interview, “I always felt like I’d be very nervous about a fashion or beauty campaign because what if it’s not me?”
“So many times, I’ve had to stand up about the way people talk about my body or the way people have tried to change my body.
“Here, I was allowed to show a version of myself doing all of my faces, not sell a version of someone to help sell the products.”
