Fashion brand, Miu Miu, unveils its latest collection, starring gorgeous supermodel Gigi Hadid. The collection pays homage to the iconic matelassé in two styles: Wander and the newly introduced Arcadie. For the collection, the label aims to celebrate the mythological concept of Arcadie, which in ancient Greek mythology meant a paradisiacal region or scene of simple pleasure and quiet.

The photo shoot has been photographed by fashion photographer Steven Meisel who captured the campaign starring the supermodel. In charge of style Lotta Volkova, creative direction by Edward Quarmby, set design by Mary Howard, casting direction by Ashley Brokaw, beauty is the work of hair stylist Guido Palau and makeup artist Pat McGrath.

Inspired by the life and work of American artist Margaret Keane, the collection truly channels Keane’s style. Steven Meisel has perfectly portrayed Keane’s artistic spirit, personality, and liberation, and her narrative aligns through his lens, also reimagining the identity of the Miu Miu heroine and creating an iconic tribute with outstanding images in uncanny settings. Steven Meisel’s tribute to the surrealist painter has been perfectly well-done, with Gigi Hadid channelling the artist’s most-iconic figures seen in her paintings through her wide-eyed glances, child-like expressions, soft gestures, and overall mood.

In a new interview, Miu Miu CEO Benedetta Petruzzo notes how well Keane reflects the quintessentially Miu Miu attitude conceived by designer Miuccia Prada.

Margaret Keane stands alongside her artwork titled “Time in the Mind,” while her husband, Walter Keane, holds his own painting called “We Will Overcome.”

In the photoshoot, we can see Gigi wearing and carrying Miu Miu’s already-iconic accessories: The Wander bag and the Arcadie. She poses against rich backdrops with colourfully painted doors, chairs, skylines, and fences, featuring texture brushstrokes. Hadid also sports a new shaggy hairstyle, replacing her long wavy platinum locks. Her shoulder-length lob has choppy fringes and wispy baby bangs.

During the shoot, she models a variety of outfits, including knitted crewneck sweaters in brown, red and orange stripes, wisteria-hued cardigans, and the house’s iconic micro-mini skirt. Each image is just amazing. The campaign demonstrates that ordinary things can become extraordinary, and even the most basic moments can have a distinctive charm.

According to Hadid, “Miuccia Prada is one of the most inspiring and iconic women in the world — because she explores all of her loves and interests to their fullest potential.” She continued, “It is an honour to see her work, work with her and to experience someone full of knowledge and powerful yet still down-to-earth and kind. She does so much to create spaces to celebrate others. I think of the Miu Miu woman as someone who has similar qualities to Miuccia…playful but calm, classic but cool, in-charge but grounded.”
