Inspired by Italian summer romance, the Sydney Sweeney x Frankies Bikinis collection aims to make everyone feel ‘Confident and Free’ in a swimsuit.
Frankies Bikinis collaborates with actress Sydney Sweeney for a new sexy bikini collection. The collection, titled Love Letters, includes a plethora of Italian-inspired lacy designs and a whimsical eyelet. It also includes a white ruffle string bikini, black lace, whimsical cherry prints, mint green embroidery on a triangle top, and a lip print one-piece designed from Sydney’s actual kiss marks. The pieces all include feminine details like luxurious beading and vintage-inspired florals, and the sizes range from XS to XXL in select styles.

In an interview, the ‘Euphoria’ star, Sydney Sweeney, was asked about why she decided on swimwear, and she said, “I grew up on the water, always running around in a bikini. If I wasn’t swimming in the lake or the ocean, I was skiing or attempting to surf. So there was always a part of me that wanted to create something that truly felt like me, and with Francesca and her incredible company, we really created something special.”
The actress also said she met up with Frankies Bikinis founder Francesca Aiello after the iconic on-screen moment “sparkled the conversation,” and the two began to brainstorm ideas and create mood boards together. “The second I saw the Euphoria episode of Sydney wearing the Gemma one piece, I immediately envisioned a collaboration for Sydney to create pieces that truly embody her gorgeous femininity, her bombshell romantic aura, not to mention her numerous talents,” said the founder and creative director of Frankies Bikinis, Francesca Aiello.
The Inspiration Behind the Collection
Sweeney talks about the importance to express your ‘sexy side’ and feel free in your own body.
“I think it’s powerful to show the world you are unapologetically yourself. We wanted pieces that made people feel confident and free in their bodies.”
For the collection, both the actress and the bikini brand thought about the idea of exuding a more sophisticated Italian summer romance. She expressed, “We felt Rome really captured and invoked the feelings behind the collection. We wanted a space that complimented the details on the pieces, but also somewhere we had the freedom to move and play.”
To encapsulate the true essence of a passionate Italian love affair, photographer Sonia Szóstak shot Sweeney and Aiello in Roe, which Frankies Bikinis says is “arguably one of the most romantic cities in the world.”
Sydney explained some of the behind-the-scenes details of the design process for her collection, which includes a white ruffle string bikini, black lace, whimsical cherry prints, mint green embroidery on a triangle top, and a lip print one-piece designed from Sydney’s actual kiss marks. “I was coating on different shades of red lipstick and kissing paper and sending pics to Francesca,” she explained. “It was this funny back and forth about how much my lips should be parted or [how much] color [I should apply], so my bathroom became covered with pages of my lipstick marks.”
