Louis Vuitton has announced Zendaya as the latest House Ambassador and the face of the iconic Capucines bag

The Euphoria actress, Zendaya has been chosen new global ambassador for the Louis Vuitton’s latest ad campaign. After her appearance at Louis Vuitton’s Paris Fashion Week show in March, now fans can confirm she is the newest face of the iconic Capucines bag, taking the role of global ambassador.

Previously, Zendaya has also been chosen to front ad campaign for other luxury fashion brands, such as Bulgari and Valentino. Then, she became a face of the latter in 2020, most recently starring in last year’s PP Pink ads.

“I remember growing up around LV campaigns,” Zendaya said. “There was this one that I loved from the early 2000s of Naomi Campbell, and she’s like sprawled out over a trunk. I can still see it. I can see the image in my head, and I remember seeing it in magazines as a kid.”

She also recalled seeing the LV monogram-inspired designs on MySpace. “Everyone had the LV print on their MySpace page,” said Zendaya. “At least I had that! Let me not try to put that on nobody else. That was definitely me.”

The bag Zendaya is seen carrying was originally launched in 2013 and named after the Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, the Paris Street where Louis Vuitton opened his first store,” which he opened in 1854.

“Today, the bag is one of the Maison’s most emblematic designs, a creation of practical elegance crafted in full-grain Taurillon leather and offering multiple styles of wear (hand, shoulder, cross-body”, as well as a flap that can be styled shut to display a Monogram Flower or tucked inside to reveal leather-clad LV initials.”

In the ad campaign, which has been photographed by fashion photographer duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot at the French Riviera, shows Zendaya dressing in black and white outfits in front of an airy blue ocean backdrop. She poses with the house’s iconic handbag, which comes in different colours.  The styling has been in charge of Law Roach (recently retired on last Month).

“It’s really beautifully made and durable,” Zendaya said. “If I buy something I want it to really last me. I’m not always the most responsible bag owner, so I might be throwing it around, it might get some real wear in it, you know, because I want to really use it, and it feels so sturdy.”

Law Roach has previously styled Zendaya for Louis Vuitton’s show in Paris. For the occasion, Law styled her in a stunning tiger-printed look also from Louis Vuitton.

“Defined by the dreamy airs of the Cote d’Azur, Zendaya poses in an idyllic sequence of strong, defined images, with a series of Capucines models in tow, including a miniature Capucines BB – another campaign first,” Louis Vuitton shared in a statement.

“From terrace to balcony to rooftop, the award-winning actress imbues the campaign and Capucines with a fresh yet sensual grace.”
