Check out the best hair and makeup looks from the 95th Academy Awards.
We’ve been waiting for this awards event for many months, and it has finally started! This new 95th edition of the Annual Academy Awards brought all our favourite Hollywood actors, presenters and hosts to the red carpet – by the way, this year, the traditional carpet changed to “champagne”, and it looked amazing!
The Oscars 2023 did not disappoint at all. It was definitely a feast for our eyes, as the stars brought all the glamour and elegance to the carpet. Not only did the Oscars showcase the very best of fashion on the carpet, but it also predicted the most incredible beauty trends. We all are waiting to try them on! And, for sure, most of us are extra excited about all the hair, makeup, and nail moments spotted during the ceremony. They are sure to be showstoppers.
The new “champagne” carpet was definitely an unforgettable moment, as our favourite music and social stars hit the carpet alongside A-listers like Jessica Chastain, Nicole Kidman, and Cate Blanchett. This year, Lady Gaga hit the “champagne” carpet, giving us a hint that she is finally back! Moreover, after her incredible performance at the Superbowl, Rihanna blessed us with her presence looking gorgeous and glowy pregnant.
Here, we’ve rounded up the seven best beauty moments from the Academy Awards – on stars like Lady Gaga, Florence Pugh, Jessica Chastain, and more.
RIHANNA
Rihanna wore the biggest trend of the night: red lipstick. She looked stunning on the “champagne” carpet as she wore a creamy, satin red lipstick (by Fenty Beauty, of course) with red nails and a loose top knot. “We wanted to create a monochromatic makeup look with a maple-red lip and highlight, punctuated by strong black eyeliner, to echo the structure of Rihanna’s gown,” Priscilla Ono, the celebrity makeup artist behind the look said.
LADY GAGA
Lady Gaga looked so amazing on the red carpet, wearing an incredible all-black Versace gown. To complement her look, she also wore a stunning ‘80s-inspired smokey eyes makeup look, using products from her iconic beauty brand Haus Lab. Her hair look done by hairstylist Frederic Aspiras was also stunning.
FLORENCE PUGH
With a gown this vibrant, beauty needs to take a more subtle approach. What we love about this Florence Pugh look is that her “ponytail into bangs” paired perfectly with her Valentino Couture gown. Her glowy makeup was painted on by Alex Babsky using Valentino Beauty products, and her nails were by Dawn Sterling.
JESSICA CHASTAIN
You don’t need to wear much else when wearing an Old Hollywood hair look paired with siren-red Charlotte Tilbury lips.
CARA DELEVINGNE
The perfect complement to the actress and model’s custom Elie Saab gown was a sleek chignon and pops of berry-pink eyeshadow and lipstick. She opted for a tonal dusky rouge palette to carry over onto her eyeshadow and lip.
SOFIA CARSON
Sofia Carson brought the “Princess” vibes to the carpet as she wore a sleek French roll chignon and equally bold brows and a cat-eye eyeliner. She had her classic makeup done by makeup artist Karan Mitchell using Valentino Beauty products.
ASHLEY GRAHAM
Ashley Graham had a gorgeous Oscars beauty moment with her intricate hairstyle. She had all eyes on her tresses by keeping makeup simple yet sultry with her 90s-inspired matte brown smokey eyes. Celebrity hairstylist Mashal Afzalzada created the look using Living Proof, while her makeup was by celebrity makeup artist Ivan Nunez using Revlon products. She also wore a chrome French manicure. Perfection.
